The FaCT Anchor Committee - is charged with maintaining and growing FaCT’s Anchor Program. The term ‘anchor’ in this case refers to a faith community which has an important presence in a community and is tied to a certain location and shares an interest in climate change and in halting harms caused by air, water and soil pollution. West Shore FaCT, a church committee under the umbrella of the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church (UU), located in Westlake, OH, is an example of this. The Climate Conversations Committee at the Community of St. Peter located on West 71st Street in Cleveland is another example. The Social Justice Council at East Shore UU Church in Kirtland, OH demonstrates the same principle. Relationships of this type present no tax implications or liability issues for FaCT or the Anchor institutions.
