Governor DeWine Declares a STATE OF EMERGENCY in Washington County!

Governor DeWine, the situation in Washington County is dire.  40,000 people may lose their drinking water due to frack waste from injection wells polluting water sources with toxic and radioactive material.

Governor DeWine, have you read the article entitled "Ohio should treat the threat of radioactive fracking waste like the emergency that it is--Gov. DeWine can act to protect livelihoods and drinking water for more than a dozen communities?" 

Governor, you may have seen this article in The Capital Journal or in the Columbus Dispatch or in The New York Times.  It was written by David Jeffrey, Ph.D., a Professor of Geology at Marietta College.  Here is a link to the professor's article: EMERGENCY.

The professor explains that the underground pressure from many years of injecting frack waste into the ground has increased the geological pressure in a part of Washington County to the extent that it is moving dangerous fluids around underground, some of which is coming out to the surface from old gas wells. 

Professor Jeffrey explains that this is a serious warning sign that the drinking water for 12 communities, a total of 40,000 people may become contaminated with toxic and radioactive frack waste.

As Governor, it is your duty to declare a STATE OF EMERGENCY in Washington County and order that the injection wells in the region be pumped out to reduce the ground pressure that is causing these dangerous fluids to move around and quite likely pollute clean water sources.

Governor, as your term in office winds down, don't let your legacy become one of dangerous neglect that can result in the permanent loss of clean drinking water sources for tens of thousands of Ohioans. Please act before it is too late!  Let your legacy be one of prompt and prudent action.
